Niels-Ole Bo Johansen Niels-Ole Bo Johansen has been teaching at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark since 1989. In 1995 he became associate professor and in 2000 he was appointed to a full professorship. In addition to his teaching at The Royal Academy, he has been an orchestral musician in various ensembles. From 1980-1984 he was a bandsman in The Prince’s Life Guard Regiment Music Corps, Viborg, Denmark. From 1984-1986 he was a member of the Funen Life Guard Regiment Music Corps. And finally from 1986-2000 he was co-principal trombonist in the The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. Niels-Ole keeps a busy schedule performing, teaching and conducting all over the world. He is also the main editor of trombone material for Edition WH.

Niels-Ole has performed and lectured at several International Trombone Festivals and he hosted the Festival in 2009 in his hometown of Aarhus. He is also a board member in the Danish division of Jeunesse Musicale, as well as being chairman of the Aarhus Sinfonietta and ITA Scandinavia. Niels-Ole often serves on juries of music competitions in Denmark and Scandinavia.

He has several CD’s to his credit. When not performing or teaching, Niels-Ole enjoys spending time with his family in their old country school house where he resides with wife, three children and various pets.
