Standing Committee on the ITA Journal
Standing Charge
The Standing Committee on the ITA Journal shall review and approve selected articles for publication in the
ITA Journal and offer guidance and support to the ITA Journal Editor on topics to be considered for publication.
It is understood that the Journal offers a broad selection of articles, and not all articles would require
consideration by the Committee prior to publication. Wherever possible, scholarly articles specifically related
to areas of performance, pedagogy, literature and research should be considered by the Committee.
The ITA Journal Editor has responsibility for all editorial content of the ITA Journal. His/Her decision
for content of the Journal shall be final.
Key Responsibilities
On receipt of an article, the Journal Editor shall determine if the article should be considered for review by the Committee.
The Journal Editor shall select three (3) appropriate members of the Committee to review and approve the article.
Two (2) of the three (3) members of this select group must approve the article.
Committee members shall:
- Approve the article
- Approve contingent upon specified minor revisions
- Reject the article outright
- Reject the article, but make recommendations to the author so that it may be re-considered
Approved articles shall be timetabled for publication according to the schedule set by the Journal Editor,
normally within 12 months after approval by the Committee.
The Committee members reviewing articles shall always remain anonymous to the author.
Articles reviewed and approved for publication the the Committee shall carry the attestation:
“This article was reviewed and approved for publication by the ITA Journal Committee”
Membership
The Committee shall consist of a minimum of 12 members, appointed by the ITA
Board. The Journal Editor shall serve as Chair of the Committee.
