A research council has recently been formed in order to foster and disseminate research concerning
the trombone and its performers both past and present.
Mission Statement
The mission of the ITA research Council is to promote through systematic and widely disseminated research
a greater understanding of the trombone through its history, repertoire, performers, construction, and various
stylistic performance techniques.
We encourage members to send the Council their finished projects to be reviewed and selected for inclusion
on this web site and for possible publication in the ITA Journal. The projects that are selected may also be chosen
for a live presentation at our yearly ITF.
In order to submit for selection, email your finished paper to the Research Council at
researchcouncil@trombone.net.
Upon receipt please allow a minimum of three weeks for a decision.
