For ensembles of 4 trombonists or more (with rhythm section)
First Prize - Featured performance at the
2008 International Trombone Festival in Salt Lake City, UT.
The 2008 ITA Competitions General Rules
and Requirements must be strictly followed to avoid disqualification.
Additional Rules
- All improvised solos must be performed
by regular members of the ensemble—no guest soloists.
- No age
requirement or school affiliation required.
- Winning ensemble
must utilize only the players who made the CD recording
in their ITF appearance—no additional players or
substitutions without the approval of the Competitions
Committee.
- Winning conductor has total control over the
content of their ITF performance.
- Members of the 2004,
2005, 2006, or 2007 Winding Competition winners are not
eligible in the 2008 Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble
Competition.
