Chuck Mandernach has been a "first-call" studio and freelance musician in Dallas since 1965. His work has ranged from classical to commercial, night clubs to stage shows, country to rock, and jazz to society bands. He has been a member of The Dallas Symphony, Summer Musicals, Ballet, and Lyric Opera Orchestras, The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, The Lou Fischer Rehearsal Band, and has performed with The Fort Worth Symphony and The Dallas Chamber Orchestra.
Other music activites include composition and arranging, (including advertising music, industrial and documentary films, pieces for publication, and scores for The Dallas Ballet, The Dallas Symphony Pops, The San Antonio Brass, Dallas Brass, and other professional and educational groups), music copy and preparation, contracting, and conducting.
Chuck has been a trombonist and Personnel Manager with the Dallas Opera Orchestra since 1989, and is a member of The Collection Jazz Orchestra. His six trombone and rhythm section jazz group, Them Bones, has received critical acclaim for its performances since 1980 (including ITW '87 and NAJE '85) and its recording You Asked For It. He has a B.A. from The University of Northern Iowa, and an M.M. from The Eastman School of Music.
