Weril Trombone Ensemble is a result of the gathering of six recognized Brazilian trombone players, endorsers of the Weril trombone, and a percussionist who participates in the group as a special guest. The idea of organizing the ensemble was born during the last national trombone meeting of the Brazilian Trombone Association, in February 2001, when the Paraiba Trombone Quartet, Radegundis Feitosa and Renato Farias got together to play some trombone sextets. The musical affinity, plus the idea of promoting the instrument and its traditional and contemporary music repertory, including a special attention to the rarely played Brazilian music repertory. Members of the ensemble immediately began working to search out already existing pieces for sextet and also commissioned some new ones. The Ensemble’s first recording is planned for 2002, including works of the standard and Brazilian music repertoire.
Members of the ensemble include Radegundis Feitosa Nunes, Renato Farias Leite da Silva, Glauco Jose Andrezza do Nascimento, Sandoval Moreno de Oliveira, Roberto ngelo Sabinoo, Gilvando Pereira da Silva and Stanley Bernardo da Silva.
