ITA April 2013 Journal & Archive Online
The International Trombone Association is very pleased to announce the new online archive of the ITA Journal. The online archive is now complete and includes everything from the very first Journal (volume 1) published in 1971 up to the current Journal (volume 40) as well as eight volumes of the ITA Newsletter which was published from 1974-1981. The online archive is available to ITA members in the Members' Section by logging in with your membership password: https://www.trombone.net/members/journal/ and supports iPad/iPhone. Often the online version of the Journal is available before the print edition. Through the online interface, members can perform keyword searches on individual issues or print pages for their personal use.

ITF 2013 - Registration open
Registration for the International Trombone Festival 2013 is now open. It is truly a pleasure to welcome you to the 42nd International Trombone Festival. This annual opportunity to meet and share with other trombonists brings us together for a variety of reasons including performances, exhibits, competitions, lectures and many more. I am confident that you will leave the ITF2013 inspired, and your passion and enthusiasm for the trombone will be stronger than ever. Building on the success of previous years, ITF artists will work closely with the Junior ITF participants at the Trade Center. This is a unique opportunity for young trombone enthusiasts to work with world-class artists and is sure to leave students inspired and excited about our instrument. 2013 Awards
The International Trombone Association is delighted to announce the winners of the two annual awards bestowed each year on two individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the world of trombone performance and education.
The ITA Award, presented each year to an individual who has greatly influenced the field of trombone, is awarded this year to Ian Bousfield. The 2013 Neill Humfeld Award, which recognizes outstanding trombone teaching while honoring the teaching excellence of the late Neill Humfeld, is presented this year to Irvin L. Wagner.

T.A.P.A.S.
TAPAS (Trombone Artists Playing for Amateurs and Students) is a new initiative of the ITA in this new year of 2013. Every current member of ITA is encouraged to join this world-wide project to promote the vision and mission of the ITA at any concerts, events, master classes and schools that we can, in hopes of spreading the joy of the trombone and our association to many that might not know much about it. Music Recording Platform
ITA is proud to announce an online music recording platform powered by PureSolo and available to trombone players worldwide. The platform offers over 24,000 studio quality backing tracks with lyrics and sheet music for singers and instrumentalists and opportunity to record yourself on audio and/or video. More than 2,000 backing tracks are currently available for trombone, ranging from classical through modern pop music. The recording application can be used for audio and/or video recording for practise purposes, or simply just for fun. Recorded results can be shared on the PureSolo website, Facebook and Twitter.
