Opening at Southeastern Oklahoma State

Description:

The Department of Music at Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Trombone/Euphonium. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate level trombone/euphonium and low brass class, working closely with the brass faculty and director of bands. Other responsibilities might be required as departmental needs increase and can include: coaching chamber music, teaching brass methods or pedagogy, participating in faculty ensembles and other duties appropriate to the candidate's experience. It is expected that the successful candidate will be an active performer and remain active in the professional field while teaching in the college environment and/or continue a record of scholarship through master classes and lectures. Assistance with recruitment is expected.

Qualifications:

Masters Degree minimum, Doctorate or ABD status preferred; demonstrated excellence as a performer and teacher of trombone/euphonium. The ideal candidate is an excellent and innovative teacher and performer who is committed to working together with the director of bands in development of the studio.
