Concerto Braziliano with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra

The seventh classical concert of the 2023-2024 season of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra will be a vibrant evening under the baton of guest conductor, Jaime Morales. This musical night will be a celebration of Puerto Rican diversity and talent.

The evening will begin with the energetic Party no. 3 by the Puerto Rican composer Sonia Morales. This piece full of rhythm and color will capture the essence of Puerto Rican culture, taking listeners on a festive and exuberant musical journey. Next, renowned Puerto Rican trombonist Luis Fred will join the orchestra to perform James M. Stephenson’s exciting Brazilian Concerto. This concert will highlight the technical prowess and musicality of Luis Fred, immersing the audience in exotic melodies and infectious rhythms that evoke the passion and vitality of Brazilian music.

To close the night, the orchestra will present the majestic Symphony No. 2 in D flat major by Howard Hanson. This symphony, known for its lyricism and powerful emotional impact, will take attendees on a deep and emotional sound journey.
