International Trombone Week 2017
April 2 - April 9
International Trombone Week is an annual worldwide celebration of the trombone! Since its beginning in 2003, thousands of trombonists have created and participated in home-grown events all over the world.
The International Trombone Week is marking its 15-year anniversary by launching a new global initiative called Trombone Bank. Trombone Bank will welcome monetary donations in support of charities doing inspiring work through music. The first recipient for 2017 will be Brass for Africa, which is an organization working in Uganda and Liberia making a positive change to disadvantaged children and young people through Brass Music and Brass Music Education. Here are some links with more information:
The Brass for Africa fundraising campaign will take place as a part of the International Trombone Week (ITW), April 2-9 2017, and we are inviting all trombonists to consider putting on trombone events during the ITW and, if so wished, raise funds for Brass for Africa’s activities. Let us celebrate the trombone world-wide April 2-9 and combine it with supporting a very noble cause!
If you are interested, please feel free to contact Colleen Wheeler (ITW coordinator) at email@example.com. The ITA website will be adding info about how to donate, organizational tips and tools and much more during the coming weeks. Please stay tuned!
