Trombone Day at Depaul University

The DePaul University Trombone Studio is excited to present its 2nd annual Trombone Day: Saturday, November 9th.

The schedule:
– Vendors will have horns and various accessories on display including Bach, Shires and Courtois trombones, beginning at 9am and during the 12:30 lunch break.
– Master brass craftsman Dana Hofer will give a presentation on brass maintenance and repair at 10am.
– DePaul faculty trombonists Mark Fisher and Charles Vernon will present a masterclass from 11-12:30.
– At 2 pm, Profs Fisher and Vernon will present a recital with the fabulous pianist Yoko Yamada, repertoire to include: Sachse Concertino on alto trombone, John LaMontaine’s Conversations, 3 Etudes of Scriabin and the premiere (with piano) of Jim Stephenson’s exciting new Concerto for Bass Trombone.
– Finally, the largest ever DePaul Trombone Choir will present a program at 4pm, to include 2 marvelous arrangements by Jay Friedman, Schumann’s Rhenish Scherzo and Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance, op. 72 #8.
