Venetian Patoral is Leonello Capodaglio's brass quartet and organ arrangement of an original piece by Nicolò Coccon (1826-1903). The piece is cast in one short movement, marked Andante, in 6/8 meter. The brass parts are fairly simple rhythmically. The highest note in the first trumpet part is a¹, and the lowest note in the trombone part is G. The organ part is fairly complex, consisting of long sixteenth-note passages and melodic figurations. This piece is suitable for performance as ceremonial or incidental music. The brass parts can be read at sight by intermediate players, but only situated against the backdrop of a strong, well-prepared organist.
