Three Meditations is a three-movement, original composition, for trumpet, horn and trombone. Movement titles imply a sacred context: The Commandment, Jesus at Gethsemane, and The Children of Light. The piece is tonal, not long. Outer movements are rhythmically simple, consisting of mostly half notes and quarter notes in all three parts.

All of the parts utilize the mid-ranges of each instrument, however, the trumpet part extends up to a³ in the middle movement. Generally, the middle movement is more complex, utilizing 3/2 and 2/2 meters, and featuring the trumpet part. All three movements may be performed by young players; this piece might serve as an introduction to original chamber music for second or third year players.
