Score and parts.

Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 5 trombones

This is a simple arrangement of the iconic tenor aria from Puccini’s La Boheme done by Jeremy Niles Kempton. The arrangement is essentially a trombone solo covering the tenor voice accompanied by a trombone quartet. The arranger gives the basic tempo and rubato changes and leaves the interpretation up to the performers, so much listening and study is essential to play this well. Ranges for all five parts are reasonable and the bass trombone part could be played by tenor trombone if needed. The arrangement can work with parts doubled in a trombone choir accompanying the solo or as a quartet with soloist. It is accessible to players from high school through professional levels, useful  in any trombone ensemble library, a fine vehicle for infusing any program with opera repertoire. Grade 3-4.
