Make the world a better place this April. Grab your trombone and celebrate International Trombone Week 2013!

Anyone can join the fun

Trombone players, music educators, friends. Beginners to professionals. Young and old. Secret admirers to passionate advocates. Soloists, duos, trombone quartets, brass quintets, trombone choirs, trombone studios, wind bands and orchestras.

Create your own celebration

Organize something local or virtual during the week of April 7-14, 2013. ITW events have been held in more than a dozen countries and have included Trombone Days, liveweb streams of performances and masterclasses, premieres of new compositions, recitals, concerts, lectures, summits, symposia, videos, podcasts, a radio show... and a wedding! Participate

Well, that's Y-O-U. We're hoping you'll help to create a vibrant mix of musical experiences with student, amateur, and professional performers as well as their family and friends. See some of the events submitted for 2013.

Select great music

Perform music you like and consider including a special work composed in honor of International Trombone Week. For example, Brad Edwards composed several marvelous ITW fanfares for trombone octet. You'll find his music and more on the ITA's site. You can download it and at no cost to you; please credit the composer and mention ITW.

Practice, practice, practice

Your event represents the trombone. Make your performance as beautiful, polished and professional as possible. Arrive early and well-prepared; thank your host and the audience. Your event represents the trombone and trombonists everywhere.

Spread the "ITW vibe" in your community

Register your event on the ITA's website and tell the world what you're doing. Talk it up around town, too. You can find out about other ITW events (and cheer on your colleagues) by visiting the ITA's site, Facebook, Twitter (use hashtag "spitvalve"), youTube, Flickr.

This is our eleventh year

International Trombone Week was created by the ITA in 2003 to promote the trombone all over the world. Please join us this year!
