Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 3 trombones

Eaglehawk is the name of a wine shared by three trombone-playing friends who were forced indoors during a snowstorm for an extended time with the composer. Much of the expected Ewazen harmonic and rhythmic energy is here. Indicated at qtr=144, articulation must be light and tempo must be maintained. A good variety of rhythmic unity and variety are included, as well as dynamic contrast. The first trombone part is written in tenor clef and goes up to b1 and the bass part goes down to A-flat. Parts are cleanly printed on both sides of a single page and there is adequate rest to facilitate the page turn. There are many opportunities to teach ensemble, harmonic tuning, articulation, and balance. This is a highly recommended work for high school solo and ensemble festival type performances.
