Piano score and solo part

Primary Genre: Solo Tenor Trombone - with piano

Three Melodies, Op.7 was originally a collection of chanson for voice and piano, written in the 1870s and published in the 1890s. It has since been adapted for virtually every orchestral instrument. The three songs form a slow-fast-slow movement structure that clocks in at 7:30, perfect for a recital or college-level jury. The early impressionistic melodies adapt themselves well to the trombone, and the moderate range demands, d to g1, are a great fit for young performers. The tuba/bass trombone version lowers the trombone arrangement by a minor seventh, making the range E-a ideal for developing bass trombonists. Ralph Sauer does his usual excellent job of editing, including breath marks. Truly one of the better arrangements of quality music for trombone and bass trombone students, this is a beautiful addition to a professional recital as well. Highly recommended.
