Kirchenkonzert is a collection of ten pieces for brass quartet, intended as music for church services. The selections are quite short, reflective, and are based on well-known themes. The collection includes: Präludium by John Blied, Sonatina by Gottfried Reiche, Miserere by Gregorio Allegri, Canon in B by Johann Pachelbel, Fuge by J.S. Bach, Fuge B-A-C-H by Nicolai Rimski-Korsakov, Dies Irae by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Lobgesang by Joseph Haydn, Sanctus by Franz Schubert, and Ave Maria by Anton Bruckner.

The music is unassuming and well arranged; there are no technical challenges in any of the parts. They can easily be read without rehearsal, quite suitable for a younger group of musicians. All four parts in the score are given in C; the two trumpet parts are in B-flat and the two trombone parts remain in bass clef throughout. Substitute parts are available for purchase for b-flat trombones, horn, and tuba.
