Piano score and solo part

Primary Genre: Solo Tenor Trombone - with piano

To Lift Him Up, an original composition by British bass trombonist Jonathan Warburton, is dedicated to Ben Cantelon, a Canadian Christian musician currently based in the UK. Written in a melodic vein derivate of a contemporary, semi-popular, Christian idiom, the title indicates that the composer probably intends for the piece to be used in worship services. The piano/keyboard part includes printed chord indications, so that the accompaniment could be performed somewhat freely, or possibly adapted to include a larger rhythm section. The composer’s use of A major was likely chosen with this in mind. Given its modest range, d to e1, short duration, moderate tempo and technical demands, this piece could easily be performed by intermediate trombone students on a trombone without F attachment, though it could easily be performed on bass trombone or any other bass clef instrument. More advanced players will also find this piece appealing when looking for something suitable for performance in church services or similar settings where a popular style is preferred and minimal rehearsal is required. The limited technical and stylistic demands of the piano/keyboard part also make this a good choice in a setting where an accomplished accompanist or first rate instrument might not be available. Parts are well organized and available either by traditional shipment or PDF download, making this a practical choice for someone in urgent need of material of this nature.
