The 3 selections presented here are ‘O Tannenbaum’, ‘Ihr Kinderlein kommet’ and ‘Still, Still, Still.’ They are arranged as a continuous suite with each carol segueing into the next. Solos are given to each of the upper three parts. In the first section, 1st part plays the lead. In the next section, 2nd part takes over, twice rising an octave above first. The third section is marked dolcissimo; 3rd part has the lead for 17 measures, 1st then takes it back for the last 12 measures. These are well-written arrangements with nice harmony. Bass clef is used throughout. The first two sections are in C major and the third is in B-flat. Nothing too difficult here but a secure high register will be needed in the three upper parts. 4th part is written for bass trombone but is quite playable on tenor with F-attachment. Overall ranges: 1st e-flat-bflat1, 2nd d-c2, 3rd G-bflat1 and 4th C-b-flat. Lisa Albrecht is a native of Phelps, NY and since 2009 has been Principal Trombone of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
