Primary Genre: Elementary Material - solo
Secondary Genre: Solo Tenor Trombone - with piano

This is a lovely solo for an intermediate performer. The rambling melodic line ranges from F to g1, which unfortunately provides a potential high note barrier for beginners who would otherwise be able to perform this short piece. The soloist starts the piece alone and markings are minimal, thus allowing for artistic expression or a one dimensional interpretation, depending on the maturity level of the trombonist. The piano part is set rather low and in close spacing but it is fairly independent. This casting can either enhance the performance or, because there is little doubling, cause counting issues for an inexperienced player. These misgivings aside, the piece is a good challenge for a budding soloist. Parts for instrument in B-flat, E-flat, and horn in F are also included in the $4.50 purchase price.
