Score and solo part.

Primary Genre: Solo Tenor Trombone - with piano

This much beloved Glière work is given a solo treatment by the arranger for trombone and piano. This is a complete version of the dance including all the faster and faster variations; it captures the character of the original quite well. The pianist provides some relief for the trombonist by often covering the repetitions alone. Piano accompaniment has some difficult passages especially when covering the woodwind parts from the original but should not be a problem for a capable collaborator. An alternate realization of one of the more difficult moments near the end is offered to make this arrangement more accessible. Performance requires an excellent sense of style and drama but has the potential to be a fun, showstopper finale for any recital. This is a nice addition to the transcription repertoire. Range E-b-flat1. Grade 4.
