Graduate Assistantship University of Arkansas


The studio of Dr. Cory Mixdorf, at the University of Arkansas, has a graduate assistantship opening for the 2019-20 school year. The assistantship includes a tuition waiver, $12,000 annual stipend, teaching and leadership experience, as well as a guaranteed position with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, playing alongside Dr. Mixdorf. The University of Arkansas, located in the foothills of the Ozarks in Fayetteville (ranked in the top five places to live in the country by U.S. News & World Report), is an SEC university with an enrollment of over 27,500. The music department is home to over 300 music majors, and is housed within the Billingsley Music Building, Epley Band Hall, and the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. The studio trombone ensemble, the RAZORBONES, were selected to perform at the 2018 International Trombone Festival in Iowa City, IA.
