Premiere of Trombone Ensemble Piece “Joshua’


The United Parish Church Choir and the Boston University Trombone Choir premiered “Joshua” by Christopher LaRosa, on Sunday November 11, 2018 at United Parish Church of Brookline, Massachusetts.

The 15-minute piece “Joshua,” written in 2015, is scored for SATBB Vocal Choir, 2 6-part A,T,T,T,B, B, Antiphonal Trombone Choirs, Soprano, Contra-Alto, Tenor Vocal Soloists and Organ.

Composer, Christopher LaRosa, a Boston University Alum and newly appointed Composer/Arranger for the U.S. Army Band “Pershings Own”, Washington D. C. was commissioned by members of the United Parish Choir of Brookline (MA) to write a piece for the United Parish Choir and the Boston University Trombone Choir.  The joint-choirs have collaborated musically together for the past 8 years.

Music Director, Susan DeSelms prepared the choir and performed as Organist.
