Longtime ITA member Stan Pethel will retire from his position as Professor of Music at Berry College near Rome, Georgia at the end of Spring semester 2016. Having held the position for the past 43 years Dr. Pethel has taught countless trombone, euphonium, and tuba students, and directed the Berry College Brass Ensemble and the Berry Bones. He has taught a number of courses over the years including composition, arranging, music theory, music history, world music, music education, brass methods, and recording techniques. Dr. Pethel will continue as a audio reviewer for ItA journal and remain active as a performer, conductor, composer, arranger, and orchestrator professionally.
