Timothy Higgins Premieres His Own Concerto with San Francisco Symphony



Timothy Higgins, principal trombone of the San Francisco Symphony, was the featured soloist in his own concerto. Ludovic Morlot conducted the world premiere on November 18, 2021.

Timothy was appointed principal trombone in 2008. He has performed with the Chicago, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and Virginia symphonies, as well as Washington National Opera. He is also active as a composer and arranger. While this is his first concerto, Timothy has composed and arranged works for orchestras and brass ensembles across the country.
