Score and parts.

Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 3 trombones

This is a collection of fifteen easy to intermediate level trombone trios. Included are ten original works by Martin Klaschka: Ballad, Barock ad Hoc, Bronxology, Fanfare to Start Over, Fughetta Nuova, Hold on the (Bass) Line, Mountain Rest, Nostalgica. Song for a Festival, and Wild, Wild West. The remainder are arrangements: Offenbach – Barcarole, Rameau - Hymn A La Nuit, Rebikov – Christmas Song, Barret – The St. Catherine Rigaudon, Anonymous – Trio um 1700.

These are all a perfect fit for younger trombonists. They are relatively short, 24-60 measures; all parts are in bass clef. Technical demands are limited, mostly nothing beyond eighth notes are required, tempi are moderate, no complex rhythms, basic meter signatures, keys up to three flats and no sharp keys. Within those confines they do cover a wide variety of styles, from Baroque to the present. They are a good teaching tool for basic concepts of sound, blend, intonation, in addition to including various kinds of articulations, tempi, dynamics and accidentals. The third part is playable on tenor without f-attachment, with the exception of Song for a Festival, which descends into the trigger range for several bars. Print and paper quality are first class.
