Bio

Greg Strohman is active as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician. A graduate of both the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University in Philadelphia and Lebanon Valley College in Annville [PA], his primary teachers include Matthew Vaughn and Glenn Dodson of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and James Erdman of the United States Marine Band. Greg is also fortunate enough over his years of study to have been coached by Nitzan Haroz, Blair Bollinger, Vern Kagarice, David Bilger, Charles Abramovic, Lambert Orkis, Rodney Marsalis, Warren Deck, and Jose Sibaja. In 2007 and 2008 Greg was selected as a finalist in the International Trombone Association’s Larry Wiehe and Marstellar Competitions. Equally at home as both a classical and jazz musician, he has performed professionally as a trombonist with many musical organizations, including the Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass, Symphony in C, the Wilmington Ballet Orchestra, River City Big Band, Quartet die Posaunen, the Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra, and the Pottstown Symphony. As an orchestral musician, Greg has performed under the batons of Rossen Milanov, Cristian Macelaru, and Charles Dutoit. As a recitalist and chamber musician, Greg has performed and collaborated with many internationally renowned musicians—including various present and former members of the Metropolitan Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, United States Marine Band, Canadian Brass, Boston Brass, and American Studio Orchestra. Greg currently serves on the faculties of Dickinson College and Lebanon Valley College.
